FAQ

TikTok Shop allows businesses to create a storefront within the TikTok app where they can display their products and offer users a seamless shopping experience. Users can browse through products, view product details, and make purchases without leaving the app. The feature is integrated with popular payment providers such as Shopify, making it easy for businesses to manage their inventory and transactions. Access to this feature depends on location and other requirements determined by TikTok.

TikTok Shopping is a feature that allows businesses to showcase their products and sell them directly to users on the TikTok platform. According to their website, they say TikTok Shop is for Sellers, Creators, Partners, and Affiliates.

However, not everyone can use TikTok Shopping. There are some requirements for using this feature:

  • Businesses

Only businesses can use TikTok Shopping. This means that individual users cannot use this feature to sell their own products. To use TikTok Shopping, you need to have a TikTok Business Account. If you don’t have a business account, you can easily create one by following the steps outlined by TikTok.

  • Eligible Countries

TikTok Shopping is currently available in a limited number of countries. As of September 2021, it is available in the Canada and the United Kingdom and is launching soon in the US. TikTok plans to expand the feature to other countries in the future, so keep an eye out for updates.

  • Compliant with

TikTok’s Policies
To use TikTok Shopping, businesses need to comply with TikTok’s policies and guidelines. This includes adhering to advertising policies, community guidelines, and other rules outlined by TikTok.

TikTok Live Shopping is a feature that combines live streaming with e-commerce. It allows businesses to sell products in real-time during a live stream, creating an interactive shopping experience for users on the platform.
With TikTok Live Shopping, businesses can promote their products and offer users a chance to buy them while watching a live stream. Users can purchase products directly from the live stream, without leaving the app.

TikTok previously had two different professional account types, Business and Creator, that were distinct from the standard personal account.

However In 2021, they merged the personal and creator accounts, giving all users access to creator-specific tools. A personal account is by default created as a creator account. Just like businesses, creator accounts for individuals can be verified by TikTok.

Personal accounts for individuals also have access to several creator-specific programs, like Creator Next, which allows creators to monetize as they grow their communities that differ from all that is offered to business accounts.

Both business and creator accounts can also access the Creator Marketplace. This platform connects business accounts and creators looking for collaboration opportunities within the network.
